President's Message
Welcome to the new website of MNIAAI. We are a group of individuals dedicated to investigating the cause of fires and educating the public regarding the crime of Arson. Membership in our organization consists of a variety of professionals, including, but not limited to, public and private investigators employed by: Police, Fire, State Fire Marshal’s Office, Insurance Companies, Law Offices, and Engineering Firms. We all have a common interest in the investigation of fires and the fight against those who set them.
Training is a top priority of our organization. Annually we sponsor a training seminar in March to educate our members. The event typically draws approximately 250 attendees that receive quality education on a variety of subjects. The Training and Education Committee works hard each year to make this seminar a valuable learning experience. We also sponsor other training opportunities such as: Burn to Learn and Hazmat/OSHA.
The Arson Awareness Committee’s mission is to increase awareness among members of the public as well as those working in the criminal justice system that Arson is being committed regularly in our communities. The committee is actively working to educate the public on the seriousness of the crime of Arson and how it affects everyone. For far too many years Arson was seen as a property crime only, rather than a crime against people as it is in so many cases. The committee’s efforts to get their message out include: working at ‘Governor’s Fire Prevention Day at the Fair’, establishing a Facebook page, and placing ads on MTC buses.
Our organization conducts bi-annual meetings for the membership that include training and update pertinent to our industry. Membership in MNIAAI provides many excellent fire investigation training opportunities along with the ability to network with other professionals in the field and related fields. If you are involved directly or indirectly with fire investigations, I encourage you to consider joining MNIAAI. We welcome new members to bring new perspectives and energy to our organization. Click
