MNIAAI President
John Piper and Metro Fire Investigation Teams
Group Chair Ed Anderson of Golden Valley Fire Department announced today that the
Minnesota Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (MNIAAI)
and the Metro Fire Investigation Teams Group have joined together to form the Minnesota Fire Investigation Team Coalition, a committee of
the MNIAAI. Anderson, the Golden Valley Fire Marshal and a Hennepin County Fire
Investigation Team Supervisor will continue as the Chair of the group under its new name.
We all know that we
are more effective when we share our resources for a common cause. This will enable fire
investigation teams access to the resources of the MNIAAI and the MNIAAI a focal point to
promote and support the team concept throughout the State.
All fire
investigation teams throughout the State are encouraged to utilize this resource to
exchange information, intelligence and resources to assist each other in the fight against
arson. Countys looking to form new teams are welcome to attend and gather
information and support for their organizational efforts.
The first joint venture of
the committee will be hosting two courses from New Mexico Tech Energetic Materials
Research & Testing Center: Incident Response to Terroristic Bombings Operations and
Prevention of and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents. both classes will be held on
September 20, 2008.
