ANNUAL AWARDS PROGRAM

Each year MNIAAI seeks nominations in order to recognize chapter members or organizations that have exemplified professional levels of fire investigation and/or organizations that have provided exemplary service to the chapter. These awards are presented at the banquet during annual MNIAAI Fire Investigation Conference. Award categories for which nominations are sought are as follows:

1. INVESTIGATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Presented yearly to an active member of MNIAAI who has shown outstanding achievement through the use of professional expertise in the field of fire investigation. The award is not “case specific” and can be awarded to an individual that continues to provide professional levels of service to both the chapter and the field of fire investigation.

2. DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD:

Presented annually to a current member of MNIAAI who has provided distinguished service, effort and direction to the purposes and objectives of the association. Businesses or groups who have supported the chapter in these endeavors are also eligible.

3. PROSECUTOR/ATTORNEY OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Presented yearly to an individual who has shown outstanding achievement in the legal profession as it relates to fire origin and cause case management. The award also need not be “case specific” and can be awarded to a member of the legal community that continues to advance prosecutions pertaining to fire litigation.

4. INVESTIGATION TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Presented annually to a group of individuals from different agencies that have come together in a team concept to provide investigative services. Previous team members recognized have come from Public and Private Investigative Agencies, Police Investigators, State and Local Investigators, Prosecutors and Engineers. One award is granted to each member of the nominated team.

All awards nominations must be received by the Committee Chair by the second Friday of February each year.
